Denise Rossi played the Californian lottery and won $1.3 million. She immediately wanted a divorced from her husband, Thomas, but did not tell him of her winnings. He granted her the divorce and they went their separate ways.
However, 2 years along the line, Thomas found out about her winnings through a letter and decided to sue Denise for not disclosing her winnings in the divorce. The judge awarded him the full $1.3 million. That’s karma for you.
Lottery app malfunction?
Edwina and David Nylan thought they had won the £35 million Lottery jackpot only to be informed that the app they were playing on failed to register their ticket purchase. The couple picked all six winning numbers, yet there was no record of their transaction.

Lost riches
A couple from Watford lost out on a £3 million jackpot after misplacing their ticket. Martyn Tott and his wife could convince official they had bought the ticket, however, the 30-day time limit for reporting lost tickets was up. This became the largest unclaimed jackpot since the UK lottery began in 1994.
Old and wise
The oldest lottery winner recorded was Nguyen, who was 97-years-old from Vietnam. He won $340,000 but struggled to spend the money as he had been poor his whole life. The money was mostly given away to harassing neighbours and spent on a new TV, some meat and a sack of rice for him and everyone down his alley.
Royal winnings
The Queen of England one won £10 on the first ever UK lottery. The weekly news headline was ‘One’s Won’. We don’t know whether she cashed the prize.
1 to 350 billion odds
With a 1 to 350 billion probability, a family from Tipton in the UK has had three separate jackpot wins. This totaled to over £3.25 million.
