A mum who only bought a national lottery Scratchcard after popping in a shop to use the loo won £100K and celebrated – with an extra NAAN on her takeaway curry.
Mandy Carter nipped into her local branch of Morrisons as she needed the toilet – and decided to buy the lottery scratchcard.
She won £100,000 – and toasted the six-figure windfall with a spicy meal from her local Indian.
Mandy said she “only popped into Morrisons to use the bathroom” when she spotted a lone scratchcard in the rack.
She said: ”I saw one in the rack on its own and decided I wanted that one. It turned out it was a winner. I thought I had won £100 but realised there was a combo.
“I paid off a few bills, bought a new three-piece suite but haven’t thought that far ahead”.
Mandy also hopes to treat her family to a holiday at some point in the future.
“The whole situation is very surreal and overwhelming, I can’t quite believe it has happened”.
