Montrose woman wins an amazing £58m on National Lottery after matching all five numbers correctly.

A Scots woman has won an amazing £58m on the National Lottery after matching all five numbers.

The winner bagged £57,975,367.70 from the July 10 draw after matching all five numbers, 3, 8, 26, 33, 45, and Lucky Stars 7 and 10.

The lucky winner is from the Mearns area and works in Montrose, according to The Courier.

Camelot, the operator of the National Lottery, put a call out for ticket holders across the UK. This was because the winning ticket had gone unclaimed for over a week.

They revealed last week that a British ticket holder had won the prize.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at The National Lottery, said at the time,

“Wow, what an amazing win for one lucky UK ticket-holder.

“This win ranks at number fourteen in the list of the biggest ever National Lottery winners and we look forward to helping them begin to enjoy their win.”

He continued: “By buying a ticket for EuroMillions or any other National Lottery game, every player is helping to raise money for Good Causes. On average, around £30 million is raised every week for projects across the UK, both big and small, including funding everything from local community projects to preserving the nation’s heritage.”

Furthermore, Fellow Scot Gillian Bayford and her ex-husband won Britain’s second biggest Lottery jackpot. This was after playing Euromillions in 2012 – taking home £148million.

The EuroMillions winner is now richer than World Cup-winning French midfielder, Paul Pogba, and Belgium’s Kevin De Bruyne, combined.

As well as this, another lucky Scot, Jane Park, became Britain’s youngest EuroMillions winner at the age of just 17. Imagine winning a massive prize at age 17?! Most people can’t grab a prize at age 70.
